Flash: The Complete First Season
The first season of the television series Flash from DC Entertainment is available this week in a four-disc edition from Warner Home Entertainment. Along with all 23 episodes, extra bonus material includes several featurettes, audio commentary, gag reel, deleted scenes, and footage from DC Comics Night at Comic-Con 2014. The Blu-ray combo also includes Digital HD copies via UltraViolet (sorry no iTunes digital copies included). Price: $44.99
Arrow: The Complete Third Season
Warner Home Video has also released Arrow: The Complete Third Season on Blu-ray Disc. The four-disc Blu-ray edition includes extra bonus material such as “Second Skins: Creating The Uniforms of Arrow” and “Nanda Parbat: Constructing The Villain’s Lair,” as well as audio commentaries, gag reel, deleted scenes, and Arrow at Comic-Con 2014. In addition, the season can be registered with UltraViolet for Digital HD copies (but not iTunes). Price: $44.99
Pitch Perfect 2
Universal Pictures’ Pitch Perfect 2 starring Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson is now available in a Blu-ray Disc combo with DVD and Digital HD copy with either UltraViolet or iTunes. The combo also includes a load of extras such as a bonus song performed by the Treblemakers, extended musical performances, deleted, extended and alternate scenes, gag reel, and much more. The Blu-ray also provides audio commentary with Director/Producer Elizabeth Banks and Producers Paul Brooks and Max Handelman. Price: $19.99
Other Mentionables
Criterion Collection has released several remastered films to Blu-ray Disc including Breaker Morant (1980), Mister Johnson (1990), and Moonrise Kingdom (2012). Doctor Who fans can pick up the Blu-ray 3D release of the last two episodes of season eight titled “Dark Water” and “Death in Heaven.” And, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the adventure/fantasy film The Indian in the Cupboard from director by Frank Oz, now available on high-definition Blu-ray Disc for the first time.
