DirecTV has released the GenieGO app that lets you watch your HD DVR recordings from your mobile Android device. The best part about the app (still named Nomad for Apple iOS) is you don’t always need an internet connection. Programs can be downloaded to your device and watched on the plane, freeway, or whatever island you’re stuck on without internet. If you are sitting comfortably with WiFi access, you can also stream content (and save a lot of space on your solid state drive). DirecTV says you can use the app on up to 5 devices simulaneously, and, you can access multiple HD DVRs. The 9.3MB app (uploaded May 30, 2013) is available for Android at the Google Play store.
