What’s new on Blu-ray and UltraViolet this week? The Dark Knight Rises from Warner Bros. is arguably the most popular new title. The Christopher Nolan film can be purchased either as a Blu-ray/DVD Combo with UltraViolet digital copy, or within The Dark Knight Trilogy (also released today), which packages Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises all in one box set. Those Blu-ray Discs retail for $35.99 and $52.99, respectively. Unfortunately, the boxed trilogy does not contain UltraViolet or Digital Copies of the films. (Check Amazon for sale prices). Disney/Pixar’s classic animated tale Finding Nemo has been released to 3D Blu-ray. The film can be purchased as a 5-Disc Ultimate Collector’s Edition (with Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Copy), or as a 3-Disc edition minus the 3D version and Digital Copy.
And, the awaited Second Season of Star Trek: The Next Generation hits shelves on Blu-ray Disc. The 5-disc boxed set contains all episodes of the Second Season of TNG plus over 120 minutes of new documentaries, the TNG 25th Anniversary Cast Reunion, deleted scenes and other extras. As an added bonus for audiophiles the episodes have been treated with a 7.1 DTS HD-master audio soundtrack, as well as original Stereo Surround audio. Here’s a link to all new Blu-ray Disc releases this week available at Amazon.
