Netflix nabs Disney deal

“When you wish upon a star….” Netflix must be downright giddy today, as the content-providing giant has struck an exclusive deal with perhaps the biggest fish in the movie-making sea, Disney. The deal pays some quick dividends for viewers, like The Nightmare Before Christmas being available for streaming right now and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, The Sixth Sense, National Treasure, and more A-list films arriving in the months to come. But the partnership will really start cooking in  2016 when theatrically released movies from Disney, Pixar and Marvel start barreling their way down your bandwidth. Star Wars on demand, anyone? Also, Netflix’ “Just for Kids” section will soon be home to Disney releases like Dumbo, The Aristocats, Pocahontas, and – contain your excitement here – the Air Bud franchise!
