Dolby improves Blu-ray Lossless Audio with 96k upsampling

Dolby announced the company has improved the quality of lossless audio on Blu-ray Discs using Dolby TrueHD with with advanced 96k upsampling. According to Dolby, the improvements allow mastering facilities to integrate 96 kHz playback quality audio into the final master, while at the same time reducing digital artifacts by using masking filters. “A significant amount of Hollywood content has been captured in native48 kHz, says Dolby. “Studios and authoring facilities that implement Dolby TrueHD with advanced 96k upsampling can elevate the quality of PCM audio prior to lossless Dolby TrueHD.
