Should we read anything into the April Fools Day timing? Probably not. Of course, you could say the fact that you'll need a cable TV subscription (and a provider that plays nice), HBO subscription, and Xbox Live gold subscription is a prank in and of itself, but so be it. HBO co-president Eric Kessler says the app will allow users to access movies, special features and every episode of nearly every HBO series.

It's the perfect time for Martin Scorsese's Hugo to release on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, after the movie won 5 Academy Awards last Sunday night. The film's Oscars include Best Achievement in Visual Arts and Sound Editing, as well as nominations for Best Motion Picture and Best Writing, Adapted Screenplay.
