VIZIO announces new PC line at CES 2012

No. Vizio will not just sit back and just make TVs. At CES 2012 the company officially announced a new line of entertainment-focused PCs boasting elegant design, multi-media enhancements, and “high-performance hardware.” VIZIO says the new PC line, which includes two desktops and three notebooks, are built for video entertainment as well as office needs. Although the company didn’t reveal complete specs, it looks like the all-in-one desktops will ship in 24-inch and 27-inch displays. The notebooks will come in two light/thin models at 14-inch and 15.5-inch, and one average weighted 15.6-inch model. All five of the VIZIO PCs will come with Windows 7 pre-installed. “We’re excited to see VIZIO enter the PC market and the positive impact they will have on the Windows ecosystem,” said Steven Guggenheimer, CVP OEM Division, Microsoft. The new PCs from VIZIO are expected Spring 2012.
