Netflix has announced extended agreements with Disney and ABC, which includes license to stream hundreds of TV episodes from ABC Studios, Disney Channel and ABC Family. The agreement also includes episodes from TV shows not previously included, such as "Switched at Birth," "Kick Buttowski," and all episodes of "Alias." Netflix says new episodes from current Disney-ABC television series will be available 30-days after the last episode of the series airs.

Amazon has announced a deal with Disney/ABC that adds 800 titles to their Prime Instant Video streaming service. The content will come from ABC Studios, The Disney Channel, ABC Family, and Marvel and is available free-of-charge to Amazon Prime members. Titles to be added to the Instant Video library include Lost and Grey’s Anatomy (available 11/1/11), Felicity, The Disney Channel’s Phineas & Ferb, and Marvel’s X-Men Evolution.

Samsung made an announcement last Friday that the company plans to release flexible displays for smartphones early next year. Flexible screens for other portable devices, such as tablets, would follow sometime after.

Starting today (Halloween of all days!), Redbox has increased the price of its daily DVD rentals to $1.20. So much for dollar rentals. Redbox blames increased operating expenses and banking debit card fees for the price hike. The good news is though Blu-ray Discs and video games and will stay the same price at $1.50 and $2 per day, respectively. Redbox is also trying to soften the blow by discounting the first day of DVD rentals to $1.00 through November 1. Redbox says this is the first time they have raised prices in eight years.

28 Days Later was a scary movie, sure, but 28 days later is an even scarier reality for Blockbuster. Starting tomorrow, that’s the amount of time that Warner Home Video will be delaying new releases to Blockbuster and other video stores. Home Media Magazine reports an agreement between the two sides giving Blockbuster access to new films, a full month before Redbox and Netflix, has expired.

Warner Bros.' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 with UltraViolet digital copy will be a true test of the format when the Blu-ray Disc releases on Nov. 11, 2011. UltraViolet is a cloud-based digital library that allows you stream or download movies you have license to. You'll be able to tell which movies or TV shows are eligible by the UltraViolet logo on the product, online and in stores.
