Epix unloads apps for over 100 devices

Epix announced today release of apps supporting over 100 devices including mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc and other media players. Verizon will be the first service provider to offer the apps to FiOS TV customers, who will now have more access to Epix movies wherever they go. Epix says some customers will get a free trial of the channel for a limited time.

Of the electronics manufacturers, Motorola, HTC, LG, and Samsung were mentioned. Specific electronics such as Google TV, Roku streaming players, and BlackBerry PlayBooks were also mentioned as devices that now support Epix.

“Movies have been a key driver of every new entertainment platform and we are excited to tap the power of movies to engage online viewers and attract new subscribers for our affiliated distributors,” said EPIX President and CEO Mark Greenberg.
