PlayStation Network going mobile on Apple iOS 4 and Android devices

PlayStation will soon be available on iOS 4-based devices such as the Apple iPhone, iPad and iTouch, as well as Android-based mobile devices with at least OS 1.6. This news comes via the European PlayStation blog which posted the announcement yesterday, as well as posted pictures of the app in action. No doubt we’ll soon hear about an app release in the US, which will allow PSN members to keep tabs on trophies and member’s online status.

The PlayStation app, which by the way will be a free download, will also allow you to view announcements, share news with friends via social apps like Facebook and Twitter, and search for the latest hardware and games available.

Version 1.0 of the app will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and The Netherlands. The next version (which the PlayStation team says they are already working on), will support most SCEE countries and languages. The next version will also allow you to make comments on the PlayStation blog postings.
