Comcast expanding their on-demand library

Comcast rolled out 9,000 more on-demand movie choices this week in their Xfinity markets in Philadelphia and Washington, DC, increasing their VOD library by 450-percent. 3,000 of Comcast’s now 25,000 on-demand title library are available in HD.

The video-on-demand additions will roll out across the rest of the country during an unspecified time period.

New release films such as Nine, Leap Year, The Blind Side, Crazy Heart, The Hangover, The Hurt Locker, Precious and Twilight: New Moon are part of the on-demand library.

Classics like Casablanca, The Exorcist, The Godfather and The Blues Brothers are also included.

“It’s the biggest thing we’ve ever done in On Demand. We’re revolutionizing our service with a system that is capable of delivering infinite choice,” said Derek Harrar, Senior VP/GM Video and Entertainment Services for Comcast.
