DISH Network expands local HD in Florida

DISH Network expanded its HD (high-definition) offerings to Ft. Myers –  Naples, Florida. The satellite television provider is also offering new customers the chance to upgrade to a dishHD DVR receiver for free. The model being offered (ViP722) is a dual-tuner HD DVR that can operate two TVs in separate rooms.

In January of 2008, DISH announced plans to expand its HD offerings to 100 local markets and 100 national HD channels by the end of the year. They are currently offering local HD channels in 58 markets reaching more than 66 percent of U.S. households.
