Comcast gets new high-definition channel ‘MGM HD’

MGM HD will soon be available to Comcast cable customers, as both companies signed a broadcast distribution agreement. MGM has a library of thousands of classic and contemporary films which will be broadcast in 1080i on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s first fully owned cable channel in the United States.

“This is another step in growing the incredible opportunities that exist between MGM and Comcast and deepens our strategic relationship,” said Jim Packer co-President Worldwide Television, MGM.

Comcast’s networks include E! Entertainment Television, Style Network, The Golf Channel, VERSUS, G4, PBS KIDS Sprout, TV One, as well as ten Comcast SportsNet networks. The television, internet and phone service provider has over 24 million cable subscribers.

  1. MGM HD had a movie called ‘The Doll Maker,’ with Jane Fonda listed for 8/13/2013. Instead they showed something called the idol maker. The wrong programming can be very frustrating!
